Hail
Hail is rain that is caught in the updraft and pushed up into the atmosphere and cooled then it comes down hard in ice form. Hail can range in different size and shape depending on how strong the updraft is or how strong the storm is. If there are strong updrafts with any storm and the hail is quite large than that could possibly mean that a tornado could form.
